Where In The World Are You ?

Posts on successive days ! I must be bored, have time on my hands, trying to stay awake, motivated...or a combination of all !

I was just responding to some comments on my last post and it had me wondering who reads this stuff. I do know some of you as you contact me directly, and I really do appreciate this.

But when I looked at my analytics details just now, I was surprised to see where these posts are being viewed.

How do people stumble across something as mediocre as my waffle? When I see some of the countries I wonder how they would interpret and understand some of the language I use, and if they get my phrases and weird sense of humour.

If they do, heaven help them !!

So what I have done to explain this to you is include some info that shows the reach at the moment, and try to show you that we all have a story to share and that we may never know how people stumble across them.

This graphic shows just who looked at my recent posts in the past week. The brighter the colour, the more hits. Mainly English speaking countries, but a few European countries as well.

This graphic shows the precise numbers for the past week, so there must be a few people in Europe who have pets walking across their keyboards in the middle of the night and fumbling their way to my blog !

If I showed graphics from different weeks, they would be quite different. A few months ago I had many hits for a few days in a row from India for some reason, then just as quickly as it peaked, it went down again. It really made me wonder what caused this. Probably hackers !

This final graphic shows my reach over the past 12 months and I was amazed to see the randomness of African and South American countries stumbling across it.

I only put these graphics up to explain how one might think that doing a blog is a waste of time because no one will read it. I was having this discussion recently with someone who said that they wanted to blog a bit as they loved writing.

I had exactly the same thoughts when I started this many years ago, and seeing how many readers I'd get was not on my agenda. Getting some has been pleasing I must admit, but this blog has turned into a type of relaxation and therapy for me when I'm stressed, worried or have things on my mind and don't know who to unload on.

So it ends up being you !!

I'd just love to know where in these countries they are, who they are, what they do, and most importantly, how they came across my blog.

I don't care what my readers think of it, but I hope that sometimes I do make you think.
