Day Two of our Europe 2015 adventure...

After a great day yesterday exploring Camden, we are meeting up with Sam again to explore the Tower of London and the surrounding area. Sam actually works in that area, but has never done the 'tourist thing' and is keen to have a look around with his 'oldies'.

Tonight we are heading off to see Les Miserables, two of the three are looking forward to it !! (And one of them is not me !!)

We also ventured to the basement of our digs to put a load through the washing machine. All was going well until we saw a big sign above the machine saying "Do not use before 8.00 a.m."

This was because there was a room right next door to the washing machine and drier where people were staying.

As we had already put the powder in, and were just about to press "start", we were debating whether or not to obey the rules.

My suggestion was that I would stay with it and turn it on just before 8.00, so that Jen could go back upstairs and have breakfast. After some more umming and aaahing, we just thought 'Stuff it, let's just do it'!!

So we just pushed the button and bolted!!

About 40 mins later we thought it was time to go and collect it, so we were so quiet opening the door to the laundry, just in case the people in the room next door heard us and came out and abused us.

I was prepared for this however, and was going to play the 'I can't read or speak English' card if needed. We grabbed the clothes, and bolted out again before anyone could catch us in the act of 'Using the washing machine before 8.00 a.m', surely one of the most severe crimes in Kensington, and which probably resulted in many convicts being transported to Australia many years ago!!

We are now getting ready to head over to Sam's place, which means trying to negotiate the underground train system, changing lines and then finding his place.

There is tension in the house this morning!!
